On 12nd January 2018, National Office of Intellectual Property has issued its Decision No. 462/QD-SHTT on granting Geographical Indication registration certificate No.00064 for the famous “Ba Ria – Vung Tau” black pepper. Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Rural Development Branch is the organization in charge of managing this geographical indication.
Geographical area consists of Kim Long Commune, Bau Chinh Commune, Quang Thanh Commune, Binh Trung Commune, Binh Gia Commune, Lang Lon Commune, Xuan Son Commune, Da Bac Commune, Binh Ba Commune, Son Binh Commune, Xa Bang Commune, Suoi Rao Commune, Cu Bi Commune, Ngai Giao Town of Chau Duc District; Xuyen Moc Commune, Hoa Hiep Commune, Bau Lam Commune, Hoa Binh Commune, Hoa Hoi Commune, Hoa Hung Commune, Tan Lam of Xuyen Moc district; Song Xoai Commune, Hac Dich Commune of Tan Thanh District; Long Tan Commune of Dat Do District; Long Phuoc Commune of Ba Ria Commune, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.
